Johnnie Radio Network
The Only Networked Radio Broadcast in All of Division III
Athletics
If you are unable to experience Saint John’s basketball, football
or hockey in person, you can follow the Johnnies on the Johnnie
radio network and flagship station, The Bear (WBHR) 660 AM.
For the past nine years, Saint John’s University and WBHR (The
Bear - Tri-County Broadcasting of Sauk Rapids), Minn. claim the
only networked football radio broadcasts in all of NCAA Division
III athletics. With WDGY 740 AM out of Hudson, Wis., and KOWZ 1170
AM out of Waseca, Johnnie football games can be heard border to
border in Minnesota and into parts of western Wisconsin, northern
Iowa, and eastern parts of North and South Dakota.
As the weather turns colder, tune into The Bear for all SJU
basketball games and a majority of Johnnie hockey games throughout
the winter.
SJU and Tri-County Broadcasting revised their radio broadcast
agreement in the summer of 2011 and are now under contract through
the 2018-19 academic year.
