COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – All-session ticket packages for the 2026 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship – which will be held in Minnesota, fondly known as the "State of Hockey" – will go on sale to the general public on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2024, at 10 a.m. CT at iihf.com/en/events/2026/wm20.Fans can sign up here by 10 a.m. CT on Wednesday (Dec. 18) to receive priority access to pre-sale opportunities, which begin this week. The iconic IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship showcases the best men's ice hockey players in the world under 20 years of age competing for the gold medal.
The tournament, which features the future stars of the NHL, will be held from Dec. 26, 2025 – Jan. 5, 2026, at Saint Paul's Xcel Energy Center, home of the NHL's Minnesota Wild, and 3M Arena at Mariucci on the University of Minnesota campus in Minneapolis. All-session ticket packages include entry into all 29 tournament games, including the medal round, and offer priority seating. While the 2026 tournament schedule will be announced later, fans should know that game times will be staggered to allow the opportunity to attend all games.Three price levels, all in the lower-level sections at both Xcel Energy Center and 3M Arena at Mariucci, will be offered and range from $1,499 to $2,499 per seat, plus taxes and fees. A limit of eight (8) ticket packages will be allowed per order. Based on past demand for this event, tickets are expected to sell quickly, so fans are encouraged to purchase early for the best availability.
"It's going to be an unbelievable tournament, and I encourage fans to get their tickets early," said Lou Nanne, honorary co-chair of the tournament and member of both the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame and IIHF Hall of Fame. "Not only does the World Junior Championship offer a first look at the future stars of the game, but we can't wait for the world to experience what the State of Hockey is all about."
The 2026 IIHF World Junior Championship will mark just the seventh time the U.S. has hosted the event. The first-ever U.S. host site was in Minneapolis/Saint Paul in 1982, followed by Anchorage, Alaska, in 1989; Boston in 1996; Grand Forks, North Dakota, in 2005; and Buffalo, New York, in both 2011 and 2018. The 2026 event marks the 50th anniversary of the IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship.
