SCSU women wrap up 2024-25 season in Duluth

DULUTH, Minn. – No. 11 St. Cloud State Women's Hockey (15-15-6, 10-13-5 Western Collegiate Hockey Association) had its season ended by No. 6 Minnesota Duluth who swept the team's WCHA First Round series on Saturday afternoon at AMSOIL Arena in Duluth. SCSU couldn't overcome a 2-0 deficit and eventually fell, 2-1. The Huskies struck first, getting on the board late in the first period, but had the goal disallowed after UMD 21-13-2, 14-12-2) successfully challenged the play for offsides. The Bulldogs netted two goals in the second period and took a 2-0 lead into the second intermission. Redshirt sophomore forward Laura Zimmermann (Ringgenberg, Switzerland) put the Huskies on the board with just under four and a half minutes remaining, but the Huskies took a penalty with just under three minutes remaining, limiting their extra opportunities to just the last minute and was unable to tie the game and force overtime.
